Mushroom Foraging and Exploring the Future of Fungi
Today’s placement day was truly unforgettable. As part of exploring the future of fungi and finding new ways to think creatively, our team spent the day mushroom foraging a chance to step away from the windowless London office and reconnect with nature. The experience wasn’t just refreshing, it was inspiring.
We were guided by one of the artists within the company, whose practice centres on mushrooms as both material and subject. They showed us how foraged mushrooms can be dried and ground into a fine coloured powder. Pressed through a stamp, this powder forms beautiful markings that resemble eye irises a process that turns something natural and fleeting into something permanent and expressive. Seeing this transformation was incredible.
